China"s service trade value grew 25.8 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022, data from the Ministry of Commerce showed on Thursday. Total trade value stood at nearly 1.46 trillion yuan. 商务部5月5日发布的数据显示，今年一季度，我国服务贸易继续快速增长。服务进出口总额接近1.46万亿元，同比增长25.8%。

Service exports expanded 30.8 percent year-on-year to 713.98 billion yuan, and service imports were 743.01 billion yuan, up 21.3 percent from the year before. 其中服务出口7139.8亿元，增长30.8%；进口7430.1亿元，增长21.3%。

The growth of service trade exports outpaced import growth by 9.5 percentage points, resulting in a 56.4 percent drop in the service trade deficit to 29.03 billion yuan from the same period last year. 一季度服务出口增幅大于进口9.5个百分点，带动服务贸易逆差下降56.4%至290.3亿元。

Trade in knowledge-intensive services raked in 615.66 billion yuan, up 14.1 percent year-on-year.一季度，知识密集型服务进出口6156.6亿元，增长14.1%。

Over 70 percent of Shanghai"s 1,800-plus major enterprises have resumed work and production amid the city"s COVID-19 resurgence, according to a press conference on COVID-19 prevention and control held on Thursday. Industrial enterprises in Shanghai have made steady progress in resuming production, with the resumption rate of more than 660 key enterprises exceeding 90 percent. 来自5月5日上海市新冠肺炎疫情防控工作第174场新闻发布会的消息，截至目前，上海市工业企业复工复产有序推进，全市1800多家重点企业，复工率超过70%，其中首批660多家重点企业复工率超过90%。

Industries such as automobiles, integrated circuits and biomedicine continued to recover and increase production capacity, while leading enterprises have maintained stable production.汽车、集成电路、生物医药等重点产业链持续恢复、提高产能，龙头企业继续保持稳定生产。总体来看，全市工业企业复工复产稳定向前，取得了一定进展。

The US Federal Reserve on Wednesday raised its benchmark interest rate by a half percentage point, marking the sharpest rate hike since 2000 as it takes more aggressive steps to rein in the country’s highest inflation in four decades. The Federal Open Market Committee, the Fed"s policy-making body, decided to raise the target range for the federal funds rate to 0.75 to 1 percent, the Fed said in a statement after a two-day policy meeting. 美联储决策机构联邦公开市场委员会5月4日在结束为期两天的货币政策会议后发表声明，宣布加息50个基点，将联邦基金利率目标区间上调到0.75%至1%之间。这是自2000年以来加息幅度首次达到50个基点，显示美联储正加大政策力度，以抑制40年来最高通胀水平的冲击。

The committee also decided to begin reducing its holdings of Treasury securities, agency debt and agency mortgage-backed securities on June 1.与此同时，美联储宣布将从6月1日起开始减少持有的美国国债、机构债务和机构抵押贷款支持证券。

More than half of Americans show signs of a previous COVID-19 infection, according to a new report released on April 26. 美国疾病控制和预防中心4月26日发布的一份新报告称，超半数美国人表现出曾感染新冠病毒的迹象。

The findings from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention came after researchers examined blood samples from more than 200,000 Americans and looked for virus-fighting antibodies created by infection, not vaccines. 研究人员检测了超20万美国人的血样，从中寻找感染病毒而非接种疫苗产生的抗击病毒的抗体。

They found signs of past infection rose dramatically between December and February, when the more contagious Omicron variant surged through the US. 他们发现，曾感染病毒的迹象在12月至2月期间急剧增多，这段时间也是传染性更强的奥密克戎毒株在美国各地肆虐的时期。
